Updated! ForestPlanet chosen by the AUDL for Champions Weekend 2019
The American Ultimate Disc League, in partnership with Arista Networks, selected ForestPlanet to be part of the 50,000 Tree Planting Challenge, which occured during AUDL Championship Weekend 8 on August 10-11, 2019 in Los Altos, CA. We’re very glad to have been chosen as the tree planting partner for this exciting event, and applaud the AUDL for taking a sustainability lead within the professional sports industry. The commitment to plant 50,000 trees in parallel with the championship games goes a long way to help offset the large footprint that these productions have: travel for the teams and fans, energy consumption, concessions, and so forth. We hope that other sports leagues, and large event producers, will make similar commitments in the future.

Congrats to semi-finalists Indianapolis AlleyCats and the San Diego Growlers, finalists Dallas Roughnecks, and 2019 AUDL Champions the New York Empire for an excellent weekend of well-played and hard fought ultimate disc. We made a number of good connections and enjoyed every minute of the games. It was great to see that the fans embraced the 50,000 tree planting challenge, and it was fun working at our information area and speaking with so many concerned citizens.

It was an honor to meet and chat with ultimate disc enthusiast Bill Nye the Science Guy, who was also a big fan of the trees getting planted as a result of the weekend. Keep up the great work!

It was also great meeting folks from two of the three AUDL teams that support us on an ongoing basis. The DC Breeze, the Tampa Bay Cannons, and the Raleigh Flyers pledged to plant one tree for every home game paid attendee for the entire 2019 season. We thank them for their ongoing support!
